Course Description: Historical
geology is a dynamic study of the origin of the Earth. This includes Earth’s continents, atmosphere,
oceans and life. In this laboratory, we
will study the processes of fossilization and fossil identification. In addition, we will learn geologic mapping
and correlation skills, and participate in at least one field trip.

FIELD TRIP: Trip to Eastern Oregon’s John Day Fossil Beds! June 5th
& 6th . Meet at college @ 6:45 am, be ready to go by 7:15!
LABS: Are worth
10 pts each. Labs are either due the
week AFTER it is assigned, or at the end of a given lab period. See instructor
for details. Attendance is REQUIRED for
all labs. There is no make-up.
TESTS: 50 pts each, and cover lab material.
Quizzes: Are held at the beginning of the hour each
week, except test weeks, and will cover the material from the previous week. If
you are late to class…you don’t get to take the quiz, and receive a zero. Lowest quiz score will be dropped.
